On a regular basis I have been receiving messages from the leaders of the Crown Heights Jewish community regarding attacks on Jews. These aren’t muggings. It isn’t about money. Jews are being attacked and beaten precisely because they are Jews. And the frequency of these attacks is increasing. The situation in Crown Heights is out of control.
I am calling
on the Police Commissioner to address this immediately and do whatever is
necessary to protect the innocent men,
women and children of Crown Heights from these hate crimes.
I will be in
Crown Heights today to meet with people and look further into this.
