HIKIND/OU JOB FAIR ENORMOUSLY SUCCESSFUL
MORE THAN 600 PEOPLE ATTENDOver 600 people attended a job fair sponsored by Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) and the Orthodox Union’s Job Board on Thursday, April 18. The event, which was held at the Young Israel of Midwood, gave community members the opportunity to meet with dozens of potential employers all in one location. Entry-level, middle-management and senior-level positions were available, and attendees were grateful for the opportunity.
“The number of people at our job fair was absolutely amazing,” said Assemblyman Hikind who has now sponsored four events. “As I’ve said the past, if we can get even one person a job by holding these types of events, it’s more than worth it. Over the years, many of our community members have thanked us for connecting them with solid, meaningful employment via our job fairs—I can’t describe how good that makes my staff and I feel.”
Assemblyman Hikind thanked Sruli Rosner, Director of the Orthodox Union’s Job Board for making the event possible. He also thanked David Stern, president of Young Israel of Midwood, for the use of his synagogue for this important event, and for allowing the event to run beyond its scheduled hours of 4 pm to 7 pm because of the great turnout.
