Ariel Sharon - Baruch Dayan Emes
In a world short on true leaders, there is no doubt that Ariel Sharon was a leader of the people of Eretz Yisrael. There are many examples of him exhibiting courageous leadership throughout his life, particularly during the Yom Kippur War in 1973. There's no doubt he lived a life dedicated to his people. Still, there remains a chapter in his legacy that left many Jews deeply hurt and pained, for having had to depart from even a sliver of our precious land. But the sum of his life's parts points to a leader whose raison d'etre was the security, preservation and advancement of the Jewish people. Baruch Dayan Emes
