HIKIND PRAISES NYPD IN BROOKLYN HATE CRIME BUST
Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) had high praise
for the NYPD for their immediate and professional response in arresting a
teenager who threatened and attacked a Jewish subway rider on Monday. Stephan
Stowe, 17, was charged with harassment after telling the rider, “They should
have killed all of you,” and grabbing the victim’s cell phone.
Today, Stowe was arraigned
on eight charges, including grand larceny, which was charged as a hate crime,
resisting arrest and harassment.
“There is no place in our
city for hate—it’s as simple as that,” said the Assemblyman. “The NYPD acted
quickly and efficiently in dealing with this disgusting incident. We should all
be grateful for their presence and their dedication.”
