ANOTHER SWASTIKA FOUND. WHAT'S GOING ON?

A distraught Boro Park resident walked into my office this morning to complain that a swastika and the word “Hitler” had been scrawled on the elevator door of her apartment in the heart of Boro Park. We immediately contacted the police then accompanied the resident back to her building. Within moments, the police arrived and began to investigate.

What’s going on? Why are we being targeted now? And most importantly, when is this going to stop? Over the last few months, there have been far too many of these incidents. The police are doing everything they can but arrests have to be made!

SWASTIKA ATTACK NEAR MAIMONIDES

Three swastikas were discovered on a Brooklyn sidewalk near Maimonides Medical Center on the corner of 49th Street and 10th Avenue in Borough Park. The police contacted me immediately and the NYPD Hate Crimes task force is investigating the matter.

I don’t want to give extra attention to the criminals who are painting swastikas in our neighborhood, but neither should our residents fear that these incidents are going unchallenged or will go unpunished. It’s just a matter of time before a witness or surveillance camera leads us to the culprits and then there will be a heavy price to pay for these serial hate crimes. There are many cameras in place and many more are coming.

HIKIND OFFERS $5K REWARD FOR INFO ON PERPS
AS ADDITIONAL SWASTIKAS ARE FOUND

Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) is offering a $5000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the vandals painting swastikas in Boro Park. He made the announcement after learning that a car in front of the Hamodia office (207 Foster Ave.) was the latest target in a series of attacks on Jewish homes, buildings and property in the community. The attack was discovered this afternoon.

“We don’t know who is doing this yet but we know why,” said the Assemblyman. “Some individuals are sending a message. We hear them. And when they’re caught—and they will be—we’ll send a message, too. I urge anyone with any information to come forward.”
